Better Grading. Proper Runoff.
Proper grading helps direct rainwater away from your foundation and reduce pooling in low areas of your yard. When ground slopes toward the house, water can collect against the foundation and seep through cracks or joints into the basement. Standing water can also provide breeding areas for some insects. We assess your property’s slopes and drainage to identify grading improvements and determine whether additional drainage is needed.
Grading Projects
Rough Grading, Final Grading and Yard Leveling
Rough grading establishes the overall shape of the work area. Final grading refines the surface for the next stage, such as loam, lawn or a driveway base. Yard leveling does not mean making every area perfectly flat: suitable slopes are needed to direct runoff. We review the intended use, drainage and material needs before recommending changes.
Grading as Part of a Drainage Plan
Low areas and slopes toward a building can contribute to standing water. We assess whether reshaping the ground can help and whether drains are also needed. Explore custom yard drainage and French drain installation. Where material needs to be brought in or removed, we can discuss hauling and loam or crushed stone installation as part of the project.
